This page explains how to request deletion of your Rehabity patient account, and exactly what happens to your data when you do. It applies to patients using the Rehabity mobile app (Android and iOS) or the Rehabity web portal.
How to request deletion
There are two ways to do this. You do not need to still have the app installed to use either one.
Option 1 — In the app or web portal (fastest)
- Sign in to your Rehabity account (app or web portal).
- Go to Profile → App Settings (mobile) or Settings (web).
- Select Delete Account.
- Confirm your password when prompted.
This starts a 14-day grace period. If you sign back in during those 14 days, you'll be offered the option to cancel the deletion and keep your account exactly as it was.
Option 2 — By email (no sign-in required)
Email privacy@rehabityhealth.com from the email address on your Rehabity account and ask us to delete your account. Include your full name so we can locate the right record. We'll confirm your identity and process the request — normally within a few business days.
What happens after the grace period
Rehabity is used to manage physical therapy care, so your account data includes health information your clinic relies on as part of your treatment record. Because of this, and because we are legally required to retain certain health records, deleting your account does not immediately erase everything — here's exactly what happens:
- Your login is permanently disabled. You will not be able to sign in again, and no one can create a new account with your email until this process completes.
- Your account is removed from active use. It no longer appears in your clinic's active patient list.
- Your clinical/health data is retained — exercise programs, session logs, pain/difficulty/mood entries, and messages with your care team — for up to 10 years after account closure, or as required by applicable state medical-record retention law, whichever applies. This is the same rule that applies to your paper or electronic chart at any physical therapy clinic; Rehabity does not have the ability to make an exception to it, even at your request.
- This data is not used for anything once your account is deleted. It is retained only to satisfy legal recordkeeping requirements and is not accessed, processed, or shared for any other purpose.
If you'd like a copy of your data before requesting deletion, ask your clinic directly, or email privacy@rehabityhealth.com.
If you're a therapist or clinic administrator
Staff accounts (therapists and clinic administrators) are managed by your clinic, not self-deleted. To remove a staff account, ask your clinic administrator to submit a removal request, or email support@rehabityhealth.com.
